Flu Vaccine Update

2016- 2017 Flu season

All of our doctors recommend the seasonal flu vaccine!  We have begun vaccinating our patients.  You may be able to receive the vaccine at your regular scheduled office visit.  Ask your doctor about the vaccine at your visit or call to schedule a flu vaccine at one of many flu clinics. 615-261-1210

We offer the quadrivalent injectable vaccine for the 2016-2017 Influenza Season.  Some patients may require two doses of the vaccine.

We WILL NOT offer the "Flu Mist" vaccine this season.  The Center for Disease Control's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommended in June 2016 that the live attenuated vaccine (LAIV), also known as the nasal spray (FluMist) flu vaccine, should NOT be used during the 2016-2017 flu season.  ACIP is a panel of experts that advises the CDC.  The ACIP recommendation is based on data showing poor or relatively lower effectiveness of LAIV from 2013 through 2016.  Please follow this link for more information:  CDC Flu
